Viv Anderson is a trailblazer


One of the most decorated English footballers of all time, Anderson won 12 trophies in his career with some of the nations biggest clubs Nottingham Forest, Arsenal and Manchester United.

Including his role as pert of the miracle men of Nottingham Forest winning the European Cup in 1979 and 1980


Viv Anderson was so good he forced the England team to play him regualrly and became the first black footballer to play for the national team - cementing him in the history books and a leaving a huge, important legacy for generations to follow.


Awarded an MBE for services to football in 2000 and membership of the English Football Hall of Fame in 2004


This picture is of Viv Anderson playing for Arsenal. Viv was with the Gunners between 1984 and 1987 making 120 appearances and scoring 9 goals.


Affectionatly nicknamed 'Spider' due to his long legs - Viv Anderson is a beloved legend for all the clubs he played for in his illustrious career
