Superstar Speakers were invited to attend a private viewing of the Worlds Best Football Memorabilia in Madrid. In December 2022 the Legends Museum owned by Legends, Madrid City Council and La Liga invited the founding member of Superstar Speakers along with the Superstar Speakers Agent to a private viewing of hundreds of matchworn football shirts and boots from the greatest footballers in history which have been worn during World Cup Finals and European Competitions. The actual 7 storey football museum will open in the Spanish capital in March 2023 to the general public and will feature some of the shirts we were privaleged to view from players such as Zico, Pelé, Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Messi, Cafu, Zidane and many more of the games greatest ever footballers. Jamie Hemmings of Superstar Speakers said "It was a magical experience, the opportunity to see shirts that have been worn in actual World Cup finals by some of the greatest players in the history of the game was unbelievable, each shirt has a story, an historical moment that in the presence of almost takes you back to that moment in history. I can't thank the Legends and La Liga enough for giving us access to a private once in a lifetime experience. When the museum opens to the public in March they are going to be taken Ona ride through football history and this will certainly be the best football museum in the world". The initiative promoted by the Argentine collector Marcelo Ordás will have a seven-storey space, located in Puerta del Sol, where you can take an exhibition, historical and interactive tour of the most important collection in the history of world football that covers each and every one of the main international competitions such as FIFA World Cup, Champions League, Copa Libertadores, Intercontinental, Club World Cup, Olympic Games, European Championship, Copa América, UEFA Europa League, Sudamericana, Confederations Cup, with the presence of all the legends of international football. If your in Madrid after March 2023 then we advise you add the Legends museum to the list of your most to do things whilst in the Spanish capital.

  • Martin Buchan signs up to the Legends Tour 2023

Super excited to announce that one of Manchester United's greatest ever defenders Martin Buchan has joined the legends tour. Buchan was signed by Manchester United manager Frank O'Farrell on 29 February 1972 for £120,000, and at the time was the club's record signing. His first game for United came on 4 March 1972 against Tottenham in the First Division. He was unable to prevent United from suffering relegation to the Second Division in 1973–74. However, United bounced back at the first attempt as Second Division champions. Buchan became club captain in 1975 following the departure of Willie Morgan. Buchan helped United win the 1977 FA Cup Finalagainst Liverpool, which they won 2–1. This meant that Buchan became the only player to captain both Scottish and English FA Cup-winning sides. He also helped United reach another FA Cup final in 1979, where they lost 3–2 to Arsenal. He was still with United when they beat Brighton 4–0 in the replayed 1983 FA Cup Final, but he did not make the team for the final. Buchan left the club in August 1983 after injuries caught up with him, signing for Oldham Athletic on a free transfer. He had played in 456 games, scoring 4 goals, one of which was a superb, yet somewhat uncharacteristic, long-range drive against Everton. Fans and ex professionals hold Martin in high regard such was his desire to win and his never give in attitude. He has very rarely attended any events like this so it really is a great opportunity for Manchester United fans to meet one of the greats of the club. His first appearance on the legends tour will see him in Mansfield on the 21st January 2023 at the 1977 FA Cup Final special event alongside Lou Macari and Jimmy Nicholl. He will then be live in Wigan in early February alongside Jimmy Greenoff, Stuart Pearson. Jimmy Nicholl and Arthur Albiston Tickets are on sale now for both events via the superstar speakers ticket link

  • Stuart Pearce returns to Nottingham this September

The legendary Nottingham Forest hero will be appearing at Nottingham Royal Concert Hall to have photos with fans before a live interview on stage with Nottingham’s finest sports radio presenter Colin Fray who knows everything there is to know about The Reds and will have some great questions to put forward to Stuart. Stuart is highly rated at Forest as one of their biggest ever legends and certainly one of the best players to ever play for the club and he is looking forward to coming back to the city to see the fans and he can’t wait for the season ahead. As a player, Pearce played as a defender and appeared for Wealdstone, Coventry City, Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United, West Ham United and Manchester City in a career that spanned twenty-two years. He is best known for his twelve-year spell at Forest, where he regularly captained the team and became the club's most capped international, making 76 of his 78 appearances for England while with the club and captaining the national side on nine occasions. Back in 1985, Pearce was brought to Nottingham Forest by manager Brian Clough. Pearce was the makeweight in a £300,000 deal that saw Coventry centre-back Ian Butterworth move to Forest. Indeed, so unsure was Pearce of his footballing future that, after the transfer, he actually advertised his services as an electrician in Forest's match-day programme. Pearce spent twelve years at Forest, most of it as club captain. During his playing career, he won two League Cups and the Full Members Cup, while also scoring from a free-kick in the 1991 FA Cup final, when Forest were beaten by Tottenham Hotspur. In his time at the City Ground, Pearce was one of the Forest players who had to cope with the horrors of the Hillsborough disaster during the opening minutes of their FA Cup semi-final against Liverpool. Pearce played in the rescheduled match at Old Trafford, which Liverpool won 3–1. He helped them finish third in the league that year (as they had done a year earlier), and also contributed to their victories in the League Cup and Full Members Cup. He helped them retain the League Cup a year later and in 1991 he had his first crack at the FA Cup, and despite giving Forest an early lead against Tottenham in a match most remembered for the knee injury suffered by Pearce's opponent Paul Gascoigne, Pearce ended up on the losing side as Spurs came back to win 2–1. He missed out on a Wembley appearance the following season as Forest lost 1–0 to Manchester United in the 1992 League Cup final. In 1993, Forest were relegated from the Premier League and Brian Clough resigned after 18 years as manager, but Pearce opted to stay at the City Ground and captained Forest to an instant return to the top flight as Division One runners-up. He helped Forest finish third in the Premier League in 1995 and reach the UEFA Cup quarter-finals in 1996. In 1996–97 season, Forest struggled in the league and manager Frank Clark resigned in December, which saw 34-year-old Pearce appointed caretaker player-manager of Forest in December 1996. His first match in charge was at home to Arsenal in the league. He admitted in an interview with Match of the Day that, in his first attempt at picking a starting XI, he did not realise until it was pointed out to him by his wife that he had omitted goalkeeper Mark Crossley. Forest, however, won the match 2–1, coming from behind after an Ian Wright goal with two goals from Alfie Haaland. Despite winning Manager of the Month award in January 1997, he would later share the caretaker role with Dave Bassett, and Forest were relegated, finishing in bottom place. Pearce opted to leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the 1996–97 season after 12 years at the City Ground.
